Heidi got her start in professional crafting as a contributor to Better Homes and Gardens books and magazines. She created projects for the BH&G Kids section of the flagship publication. She was contributing editor to Crayola Kids magazine. For the last fifteen years her designs have appeared in Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Halloween and Holiday magazines. Her work can also be found on Craftsy (Jewelry workshop and Sewing Kit Class), Familyfun, Crafts n' Things, Gooseberry publications, and several televised DIY segments on HGTV and PBS networks.
About the Kits
In the last few years, Heidi and her husband Jon founded a small business inspired by the success of her book Stitched Whimsy. They produce Whimsy Softie Kits, Whimsy Stitches Hoop Kits, and Embroidered Whimsy Tea Towel Kits. Whenever possible their products feature locally sourced American-made materials. To insure each creators success every kit includes full-sized templates and a detailed illustrated instructional booklet. The kits put all the supplies at your fingertips so you can sit back, relax and enjoy being creative.
Currently over 20 charming designs are available. Their kits have been selected to be part of Barnes & Nobles new craft launch. They're featured in Martha Stewart's American Made Marketplace. Their products are distributed nationwide in independent quilt stores and in select needlework catalogs.
When they're not working on designs, kit assembly and publishing projects, Heidi, Jon, their three children and their dog Otto actively enjoy the natural beauty of their midcoast Maine home.
